Robert De Niro Welcomes Seventh Child

Robert De Niro, the 79-year-old Hollywood star, has confirmed he has become a father for a seventh time.

He shared the news during an interview with ET Canada about his upcoming film titled “About My Father.” When asked about being a father of six, the renowned American actor, who has won Oscars for his performances in “The Godfather, Part II” and “Raging Bull,” replied, “Actually, seven… I recently had a baby.” De Niro, who has six other children from previous relationships with three different women, did not disclose the mother’s identity for his seventh child. Throughout his career, he has portrayed paternal figures in movies such as “Meet the Parents,” “A Bronx Tale,” “Casino,” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” In his latest project, he stars alongside Sebastian Maniscalco in a comedy where a man brings his slightly embarrassing father along on vacation with his fiancée and her wealthy, eccentric family.

When asked about his personal experiences as a father, De Niro admitted, “I don’t think I’ve ever been a cool father.” He acknowledged that his kids sometimes disagree with him but maintain respect. His 11-year-old daughter can be challenging at times, leading to arguments, yet he also deeply adores her.

De Niro acknowledged that with his youngest child, there will be more challenges to face, but that’s simply part of the journey. Despite being a stern parent at times, he expressed a preference for not having to be that way. He stated that laying down the law is unavoidable with kids, and although he doesn’t like it, it’s a necessary aspect of parenting.

He emphasized that any parent would likely share the same sentiments, always striving to do what’s right for their children and giving them the benefit of the doubt, even though there are moments when it becomes impossible.

Recent reports have linked De Niro to Tiffany Chen, who is reportedly a martial arts instructor, but neither of them has publicly addressed their relationship. De Niro’s six other children include two from his previous marriage to actress and singer Diahnne Abbott (one biological and one adopted from Abbott’s previous relationship), twin sons from another actress Toukie Smith, and a son and daughter with socialite and philanthropist Grace Hightower.
