Bolt Launches Outternship To Encourage Women Participation in Technology

Bolt, a tech company, has launched an internship programme called Outternship, which aims to increase women’s participation and inclusion in the technology industry. The six-month programme will provide selected candidates with a chance to begin their career by working in various departments within the company, challenging them to think innovatively.

Women hold less than a quarter of global tech leadership positions, according to a recent study by the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report. Bolt hopes that by exposing young women to the opportunities in tech, such as ride-hailing and food delivery, they can be part of the solution that changes the way people commute and order food.

Tafadzwa Samushonga, Bolt Food’s Country Manager, believes that the Outternship programme will drive change and support women entering the tech industry. Candidates selected for the programme will work with teams such as Operations, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Policy, and Bolt Food.

Interested applicants can apply for the programme between May 3 and June 2. The recruitment process involves four stages, including filling out a questionnaire, selecting an area of interest, submitting a CV, and submitting a video response to a case study. Interviews will be conducted with selected applicants, and successful candidates will receive an offer. For more information, please visit the link provided.
